5 months since separation and 1 year since marriage died (and I mean DEAD) and I'm not dating yet. I think the answer is different for everyone, though. Glad you have found a wonderful man! :)

Introducing him to the kids? only if the relationship was serious, and it sounds like yours is, but I might wait a little longer if I were you...then again, I am over protective of my kids. lol. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Well I waited until my divorce was final to start dating again but started looking immediately, even though married I was a lone for many years and had healed along the way....though my daughter is in her late 20's it still hold off having them meet her and my son-in-law..... when I do get involve in a relationship then they can meet my "family"....but for just dating....meeting the family can wait...gives to many wrong implications.....

I think you are wise waiting to introduce the kids to any man until you know for sure it is a solid, healthy relationship.

My divorce is not final yet. So of course, I am not dating. I'm focusing on healing myself and supporting my children through this painful mess. I am lonely & crave companionship, but I know that will eventually happen, I'm not rushing it.

I dated someone pretty fast (stupidly). My x was cheating and I didn't find out until after I kicked him out for other reasons. It was a huge blow to my self-esteem. I dated an old friend and he ended up hurting me terribly. When I started dating my new husband, I probably wasn't ready even though my divorce was final. He had to put up with a lot. Honestly I didn't feel truly healed until about a year after my separation. It's different for everyone though IMO.

We were separated 6 months when I had my first date. I think I would feel different if I had kids though.

Hi K!!!! I don't know if you guys notice this, but K has the cutest dimples. I don't know, I think I'd wait a little longer to introduce your bf. I think it also depends on the age of the kids and the circumstances. My son is 13 and he is dying for me to meet someone nice. My daughter is grown and she'd like to see me with someone nice as well. Hell, she used to pray that my ex and I would divorce (her own father). I started dating almost a year after my divorce was final. I've met some very nice people, but no one I've clicked with. My ex turned everything into a competition. He's constantly curious about my "status". The kids tell me he asks about me all the time.

I'm still not divorced and have been separated almost 2 years. I started dating after a year of separation. I don't bring dates around the kids. My oldest and youngest kids (24 and 14) are very cool with the dating. They pick out guys for me. That is so freakin weird. LOL

I agree Zen.. this is so weird... the last time I dated (I was 22 with no children)- it was so less complicated- now there is a level of seriousness that can be a little stressful (I have three kids who are depending on me to make good life decisions for their sake!). My bf keeps telling me to stop putting so much pressure on myself- that things will happen naturally and I am beginning to see that he is right. He has met my kids already (he has done some work on my house)- and they really like him (in fact my 13 yo daughter said "You know mom, B is a really nice guy- if you ever wanted to date him- you have my approval"...lol). They have invited him to stay for dinner a couple of times after he finished a project... but clearly he is solidly in the "friend" category right now... not sure how/when/if I transition him to another level..... If there is one thing I have learned from my DS peeps is that if I am this conflicted about it- it is probably not time.... Thanks again folks!! :)

I waited until we had been separated for one year before seriously dating.

The first guy I met I fell head over heals in love with... he even asked me to marry him... then he broke my heart twice... no three times.

He's the reason I'm here... not my ex husband!

Sigh... it's now been almost a year since he left me (ex fiance) and I don't think I'm quite ready yet... although I'm close.

But I don't have kids. That makes a world of a difference to me.
