Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
The best way to handle getting him his stuff back, in my opinion, without completely breaking NC is to box it up, DO NOT PUT A LETTER OR ANYTHING IN IT, JUST HIS POSSESSIONS, and mail it back to him. If you don't have his address to mail it to, mail it to his parents. Maybe it will be the push he needs to get you your things back also, but if he has been promising to get them back to you over the months you have been broken up and has not yet done it, I would not hold my breath. If you have items of his that are too big to mail, I would stick a one sentence note in the things you can mail stating he has one week to make adequate arrangements to get them off you otherwise you will be taking them to goodwill, salvation army or selling them. To me, if he has shown no interest in getting his things by now, they are fair game and he doesn't want them. Again, this is just my opinion. Really, they should have been off your hands shortly after the break up, and if you are holding on to them in hopes that they are something he will eventually make contact with you over, or to keep a piece of him around so you still have some connection to him, STOP IT! It will only hold you back from completely healing and moving on with your life.
