1. people who can and will jump in completely with mind, body, and spirit.
2. people who only commit to a shallow level. they look and sound the part but they are not in very deep at all. but, their partners are in very deep.
your partner probably never was in as deep as you. then, they started becoming self-centered and step by step devalued you and started rationalizing why the right thing to do was to replace you.
unfortunately, they did not tell you so that you could start backing away from them too. they just waited and dropped the bomb on you.
on a very basic level, you can now see how you are opposite personalities and you deserve someone who has as much heart as you do. your partner has jumped into bed with a stranger and that stranger is probably going to get abandoned eventually too.
from this point forward, we have to be careful to pick people who truly commit fully and has a history that proves it. we can't afford to get tangled up with this shallow sort of person any more.
good luck to you. :)
Verne- you're right I jump in completely...was totally devoted till the end.
Charliegirl-the song was "dead on". Thanks
Your situation sounds very similar to mine. When I found out that my ex seeing someone, I was shocked by how soon. It's much easier to leave when you have someone else waiting in the wings! All they've done is transfer their affection to someone else. They are not having to deal with the "void" in their lives the way we are.
Sorry that you're having to deal with these emotions too. I would not wish what I'm feeling on my worst enemy!
His reply was, Yes so true.you bought me closer to the Lord and for that I thank you and so much more.I don't know wat the future holds but time will tell.
I'm glad the conversation with your ex went well. And, that you were able to discuss, civilly, some of the things that have been on your mind. Hopefully the conversation will give you some sense of closure. I'm sure your ex is rethinking his decision. You sound like a sweet, caring person....and, he may find that the "grass is not always greener".
In my case, I did not get the opportunity to have a discussion about what I was feeling....I got my "closure" when my ex told me about the "new friend". Wham-Bam, it was over and done! So, I'm left with all the things that I would have liked to have said....but never could.
I too, have leaned on God and my faith more in the last 6 months. My prayer today is that He gives us faith and strength to withstand what lies ahead of us. Hope you have a better week!
