I just found out that there is an opening at a local department near me and they are seeking a hire for the job. The department is very small, smaller than my old one, the pay won't that great, and the reputation of the department isn't that hot but I look at it as a job with benefits. I am trying to decide if I should apply to that place and take a job there if it is offered because it would be quick. I can then be somewhat secure and the amount of money that I have coming in is a small consequence. I just don't know if I want to work there (I really don't) but I like the idea of security of having a job. Then I would also feel bad if I quit there after only working for a few months. I have to look out for me though.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
I think that the world will give me what I ask for. Anything. If you want that federal job do everything you can think of to get it. The same with the locale job.
I bet that you could bring honor dignity and respect with you to the local job. Let go of the negative and embrace the positive. I can see you doing both jobs and being very successful.
My parents are against me working there. My Dad doesn't like the department and my Mom feels the same way. They say that it is a bad environment and it is extremely political.
I can say that I grew up in the town where the department was. The department was a joke then. It has a high turn over rate, pays poorly, and it has had other issues.
Ugh...decision decisions!
