I’m sorry this happened to you. Isn’t it odd when you think you know someone so well and they turn around and do that!!!
My wife has been giving me the whole “find myself” for the third year in a row now.
This year however she moved out. Still doesn’t mention the word divorce to me and tells me she still cares about me... yada yada yada.
I’m sure you are as well but I am just tired...tired of holding onto the thread of hope that I have... I honestly feel she has not went forward with anything because I played right into her hand...
it’s hard though when you love someone to give up on them....

I agree, when you love someone it is hard to give up on them. You think the longer you hold on, that it will get better. In reality, if you love yourself, then you need to figure out what is best for you.

Any relationship should be 100% from each side and it should not be a constant uphill battle to stay together.

That is what I took from my ex-pierence.

One hurdle in your life brings you closer to the trophy at the finish line.

I'm sorry you are going through this. It's hard especially when you know you were a good person to them. People in this world are cruel and could care less about how they treat people. You never know, he could've been cheating on her with you! I was apparently the other woman for years and didn't have a clue, he played the game well! My prayers are with you to stay strong and positive as you begin a new chapter in life!!

You are absolutely right When you do love yourself, you do need to figure out what is best for you.

I'm sorry this happened, and for the record I think three years IS a long time.

I bet his marriage won't last that long. He was lying to you, but probably also lying to her.

It's hard moving on, but with time it does get better.

Damn, not even sure how I got here. Blame Imperfect :) Never lose hope. I was happily married for 30 years, but she got cancer and died. Now I'm approaching a new personal record, 6 months in one relationship. I just got lucky first go-around. Having each other's backs, no matter what. Always had an even 60/40 split, both of us. And when both are giving 60%, it works out just fine. And we had a firm rule. We never went to sleep mad. We would talk it through to conclusion, forgive each other, and that would be it. When you carry stuff over to the next day, it can fester. Trust is such a major issue. Honestly, I can't even imagine the emotions involved when you find yourself the victim of your partner straying.
