Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
Is there any chance that you can sit down and talk, and go through everything that is upsetting to you, and suggest counseling? It might prove very helpful in releasing all the issues that you have with him, and provide an avenue to work things out.
There are lots of free ways to seek counseling online. I think marriages are worth fighting for, but people usually don't change miraculously, they need help. We all have hard times and have all made mistakes on different levels. You might check out the www.nationalmarriage.com. They might be able to help you work things out.
I will be praying for you and your marriage. I hope you can find the happiness that you deserve!
I'm not saying divorce is the right choice in your situation but I know from experience, people like our exes rarely change. Even 13 years after our divorce, he is still trying to bully me (and our kids) and control my life, at least I don't have to live with the man and it is a huge relief. Good luck and don't rush into anything, take your time in making your decisions!
Mine is on the couch right now. I have 4 more days left of being married. On May 8th, it will have been 360 days since I filed for divorce, and he and his jackass lawyer have delayed and stalled the process, taken what should have been fairly cut and dry and dragged it out to the tune of $36,000 of legal fees on my end. That's a year's tuition for my second son, gone. The ONLY reason I'm fairly certain the divorce will be finalized Monday is because he isn't paying his lawyer any more until the new house sells. His lawyer wants OUT! Unfortunately, he's still living here, and until Monday I don't know what kind of a buyout deal he'll go for. He may be here till the new house sells.
Just a warning, lazy guys will make you do ALL of the divorce work, so steel yourself for that. You probably know this already I bet. It does allow you to get a headstart on the proceedings and you'll probably have the upperhand because he's so out of it. You'll be ok in the end.
Everyday that I stay with him, everyday that we don't get out of our old house is one more day I'm paying for 2 houses and 2 sets of utilities. He doesn't care... he's unemployed. Has been for 6 years now.
Why can't I just tell him to leave? What is wrong with me? I'm so miserable with this man and yet I can't tell him to get the eff out of my house! There's got to be something wrong with me.
Lol. Sorry. Couldn't resist.
You poor woman.
