Well we have been separate for 8 months now. He has his girlfriend living in my home. He supposedly is happy with her, moving in and out every other week , fighting constantly. So why does he think that he can still control me?
Our daughter has an opportunity to go on vacation with her best friend for a week. There are no court papers stating custody. I'm still trying to deal with him in a fairly friendly manner even though he has not paid a red cent in child support, nor has he offered me any money. So he is refusing to give his approval. She should to leave in a week. She called him tonight, once again to ask his permission. He played a game with her. He clearly was drinking again. Cocky as ever. I finally got on the phone and he said 'all you care about is being able to run around to do what ever you want while she is gone'. I said really, you wanna go there and he said 'yeah, I went there'. A man who left me sit at home for 14 years while he had multiple affairs is still worried about what I'm doing in my free time. Really? He needs to move the hell on. Just because my daughter is home, does not mean I can't do whatever I want, cuz guess what, I'm doing it. With or without his permission.
I can't wait to get this over and done with. I fear the courts will not see or care that he is still trying to control me, thru our daughter. She deserves so much better. One day she will hate him just like 3 out of the other for siblings do. They won't even speak to him anymore.
Does anyone have any ideas what I'll be facing with the courts? I'm documenting everything. Am I wasting my time?

If there is no written custody agreement, or agreement for parential rights, why can't you just go ahead and let your daughter go on her trip? You ask why he thinks that he can still control you, well this is one reason.
How would this be different if you weren't getting a divorce?
I think I would just tell him that since he doesn't care enough to provide support for his child, why should he think he has the right make decisions about her?
But, I would check with the lawyer.
