Hello,

my husband who I was married to for 9 years and with for 20 years left me last week. I have had mental health problems since the age of 13 but was diagnosed with BPD in 2017. He knows the reason behind this and that it wasn’t my fault but he’s said he can’t accept me for having bpd.

he got in contact with his children after no contact for 19 years less than a year ago. I helped him get in contact with them and he’s basically dumped me for them

he put me through so much stress in the 20 years and although we didn’t actually have sex in 9 years I still stood by him through everything and now this.

I have my moments and I’m crying a lot, I hate being on my own anyway but he doesn’t answer the phone to me and rarely answers my messages on WhatsApp

i keep getting the punch to the stomach of heartache when I remember what’s happened. I have no idea whatsoever who I am and what I like because we were almost attached to the hip.

A break up is devastating, & I’m sure you’re having a really hard time with BPD. You were in a long relationship & it’s going to be hard to recover from. You may still be in the mourning phase. Take time to get through this, then focus on self improvement. Time is the enemy rn. Unfortunately nothing will shorten it.

Thank you so much for your reply. I read it in the middle of the night and I’m now repeating to myself that time is my enemy and nothing will shorten it. That’s a great help x
I just cannot believe he’s done it to me. He replied to my friend at works message Friday evening after she tried to step in and help but he’s said he’s sorry he’s left me in the lurch and I have to stop calling/texting him. This is all well and good but he’s just disappeared and I have almost no answers from him. I wouldn’t ever think someone can do this after 20yrs of being with someone.

Please take your time in the healing process. BPD is very hard to deal with let alone having him walk out on you! Stay in prayer and know that God only removes to bless you with better. I am currently dealing with a serious break up where he has decided the same to walk out on me. Just know you have a support system in me and reach out anytime if you need to. Blessings to you and praying for your peace that surpasses all understanding!

I so gratefully appreciate your reply. I’m not religious myself but hope that in time we can get through this.

I have actually had a fairly decent weekend. Last weekend was terrible as Saturdays were ‘our day’ and we’d get a takeaway and watch a film xxx

Michelle Louise, I’m so sorry to hear about what has happen to you. I don’t know why people choose to give up when they made a promise not too. I know the feeling about being joined at the hip, and having to rediscover who you even are. But this site I believe is a good support system to help you till you figure out who you are. I’m trying to figure out who I am right now. It hurts me to think how fast my Ex moved on but says she loves me. I still can’t move on, and that makes me feel stupid. But I’m not giving up, I don’t want you to give up. This group is an testament to show we are not alone. I’m praying for you in these trying times. And as I learned in bible study class yesterday, no matter what life throws your way

I'm sorry that your in pain and have to go through this trial.
I dont really have any advice,
But what works for me when im going through is prayer.
Lord,
Give me strength in my weakness. Give me faith in my fear. Give me power in my powerlessness. Amen
