If you truly want to be there for their wedding, to celebrate their marriage to each other, to celebrate their happiness, go to the ceremony, congratulate them, then leave.
That way you have honored your friendship graciously. And don't have to stay around for any potential unpleasantness during the reception.
My wife just moved out on Monday. I had a family wedding for today and rather than go mope and drink and risk an emotional overload, I talked to my family and said I had to decline. It's also my weekend with my daughters and not one person was anything but supportive. My point... Why would these people be telling you to go? Are they really that far removed from the emotions your going through?
I don't think you can judge your husband for doing what is right for him though. He's in a different place mentally and emotionally than you are. I've played the game of trying to figure out my wife, all I've learned is that it was wasted effort.
I'm really sorry you're going through this. It's devastating and you're ok to feel betrayed, bitter, crushed anything else you feel. I know this answer sucks, but divorce/separation is brutal. Feel the things you feel, but always remember to love yourself and treat yourself with total empathy. Someday, you'll truly realize that you have more than enough love for yourself and at that point you might actually see this whole shitty time as a gift. Hang in there!
Stuck with Zero answers. I also feel for your pain and loss, i think it’s not easy to be the person that was left versus the one who decided to leave. I know it will take time but right now it’s so fresh so raw, and I am trying to pick up the pieces to make myself feel whole again and like you said love myself again for me separate from another human being . I feel often in relationships some of us, as I know I do myself, you become one with your partner and at times get lost in that and forget who you truly are yourself as a human being on your own without having a partner by your side. With that being said for 5 years all I have known was what we had, and now on my own I am trying to remember who I am without him by my side any longer....
