Hardest thing ever

I am new and I am going through one of the most painful divorces ever. Me and my husband have had problems for a long time but this one just cut through too deeply and I don't know how to stop feeling so horrible. His parents died within six months of each other and he started to drink and party and then came home one day and told me he wanted a divorce. We just moved into his dad's house and we have fixed it all up I had picked out everything. I thought this was going to be a new beginning for us but I was wrong. The hardest part is my 10 year-old who is not his son but he has been a father to his whole life is completely devastated. And I was with this man for 10 years married for 2 and was a stay-at-home mom and he just left me with nothing everything with his the money the house the cars everything and I'm devastated and don't know how to get past this. He moved his ex-girlfriend in that we have had problems with for 10 years. I want to go home so bad but there's no home to go home to anymore. This man is the most cruelest person I have ever met always putting me down telling me I was nothing and then just up and left me and my son with nothing how do I get past this.

Yes but I dont have the money to get one. He really left me with nothing and is trying to get out of giving me spousal support for atleast a yr. The sadest part is i went to see him. Ending up in sleeping together then denies the whole thing cause the ex was sitting there with him I know it. Im just sick and cant eat. Cry all the time. I would rather cut off a finger then go through all this. And hes making me look like the crazy one when he wanted all this. URGH IM so lost!!-

Sounds like a lot of us here. You should be able to get help with legal fees. There are court advocates who can help you fill out paperwork.

You have a tough road ahead, for sure, but you can get through this. First, find a full time job, one that will provide medical benefits. Where are you living now? Are you with family? Secondly, as far as a lawyer, somehow you have to get legal advice. There are local county social service agencies that can provide some support and guidance. Different states have different laws on support, educate yourself about whether in your state marriages of 2 years qualify for support or not. If not, you might forego the attorney and look into a do-it-yourself divorce. You probably should get some counseling for yourself and your son too. There are free services out there.

Please don't hook up with him again. He's cruel, yet you chose to sleep with him? Now is the time for you to start building yourself back up, and sleeping with him will only get in the way of your recovery process. Don't be afraid to reach out to others for support, here on this site and family and friends and the community at large.

I'm so sorry. This time is stressful enough without having to worry about a home and finances. You are very lucky to have your mom. In time you will see that your soon to be ex isn't worth pining over. One day you'll feel grateful he left.

Wow, very very sad for you, but my prayers are going out that God will give you peace of mind so that you can focus on the essentiels: you and your son. Thank God for your mom helping you! Focus on finding a job and providing for you and your son. Take it a step at a time and for now perhaps not seeing your husband for a little while, at least not alone. He seems to have not gotten over his loss and perhaps is allowing that to justify his behavior, but all you can do for him is pray and let God handle him. You just do for you, your son and help your mom as best you can until you are able to be on your own. Also, if you don't have a support group (a physical one), you may want to find a church, association or other women's group that you can meet with that can help you with skill development, school, job hunting, etc. Even while focusing on you son and your future, you'll need moments to yourself to just let steam off and relax perhaps talking with another women who's been were you've been and made it through. Hand in there, you'll make it!
