It is taking all my energy some days to just move through the motions of the day.  But I know that I also no longer have to do all the crap I needed to just to barely help my ex to love me.  It is a hard long road.  I hope to make it to the other side.

When you say all the crap that you needed to do so that your ex could love you, can you elaborate a bit? My ex was exhausting and stressed me out so badly because he was so irresponsible and immature, unreliable, self-centered...

Unreliable. And everything had to be just right or he would just be mad and disappointed. Very self centre.

It's a hard road but you will make it through be strong.
Some days I feel myself not wanting to get up and move and it's so hard but I keep moving My ex was kind of the same way couldnt handle money never helped me with the house and wanting me to change into someone I wasn't. I tried to be that person but in the end i couldnt and He left me and I am starting to see that i am better off and so are you.

I'm so sorry. I too have tasted the agony of divorce. I hate it, wish that there was no such thing, daily feel the brokeness, but am starting to see the light now at the end of that tunel. I pray that you will too and it sounds like you are. Sometimes I visualize us all in this support group as holding hands and helping each other as we wade through the mud in the swamp. There is ugliness, tears and aligators but if we focus on the light - that clearing in the swamp just ahead of us -instead of the ugliness surounding us -we will survive. You have my hand friend. We all will survive....God bless us. We will survive....
