Hi -- I haven't posted on here in a while. I'm divorced as of about 5 years ago, I now own the house my X and I lived in, and I'm funding some repairs in preparation to sell it in about a year.
Am considering getting a roommate -- just looking for some feedback here.
Except for when I was married I've always lived on my own so that will be an adjustment to be sure.
Any advice to share?
How has the roommate situation worked out for you -- in terms of day to day living, reliability of the business relationship, etc.?

I think it is a good idea plus you would have some extra money to help with the repairs. Either that or you move out and rent your house out to a family. This can help pay the mortgage also. I think in any roommate situation there has to be rules, respect and boundaries and a lot of understanding. You would have to interview some potential renters, get references and see who is more responsible and who is not going to trash your house.
I think maybe having a roommate will help with the loneliness also. One roommate I had told me she couldn't stand having another female roommate because she felt they would take over her territory so she's always had male roommates she said men are less needy also. Just be careful.
