Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
Back once it was apparent my divorce was imminent I made a rule for myself that responses would be minimal and even then short. By the time we signed papers I no longer answered anything she sent. My ex tried once to bring our dog over I assume to dump him off. She claimed it was just for a visit. I wrote one final email to her asking her to never contact me in any way. I thanked her for offering a dog visit but since she'd alienated me from her camp nothing was necessary, not even with the step kids. I covered how I'd done anything to work through things with her but her not ending her affair(s) said enough. I made sure I used the word "affair" 5 times in the email-lol.
If you'd like, maybe consider jotting things you'd like to say to your ex and saving it all for one final note if you'd like. You send it when appropriate and try to address everything without making any accusations. It helps close the door on them as long as you don't stir the pot. It helps you walk away from it with dignity and power.
