Let me just say this one thing. I was on dating sites following my separation (about 4 years ago) and to this day I STILL get emails from the dating sites. I have not been active on any of them for over three years. It doesn't necessarily mean that he is active. I would just ask.

I wouldn't assume he is active on the sites. I mean, I get spam all the time in my email from sites like that. And I don't even belong to a single dating site!

I'm not making excuses for him. If he is on a dating site, I would listen to what others here have said, and proceed very very carefully, if at all. Having a relationship is already so hard....do you really want to make it harder, by being with someone you don't feel you can trust?

This was one of the biggest reasons my marriage is no longer, mine was on every free online dating site. I was shocked, humiliated and very hurt .5 months after seperating he than moved ow into our home that we spent so much time and energy on. If I could go back three years ago ,I would have never left my home and job to move across the ocean to marry the man I thought would love me for ever only to be treated as one of his many possesions he would tire of and easily replace. Now i am back in the states struggling trying to find work and keep a roof over my head.while the ow just moved right into my shoes.
Just expressing my concern,since stories as this usually do not have a happy ending.
P.s I feel if I see one more dating site on the tv I just want to smash it, because they are toxic and millions are addicted to these sites.

His proposing to you and membership on dating websites is indicative of a man who has difficulty committing. My relationship with my ex deteriorated because if I found him on a dating website, he claimed he stopped, to only find he had membership on several.

As yourself if this is the type of man you want in your life. I am sorry that you are experiencing such betrayal of trust. Without trust, you cannot possibly have a relationship.

Also, I would not assume that he is not active on the sites. Be truthful and confront him.

I joined a dating website and found out that my ex was active. He had denied being active.

Ok - so I actually confronted my boyfriend. He was like I am only on these sites for jokes. He then went on to say he just uses it like facebook - but if its that much of a problem then I will delete my account now!! which he alegadly did. I was happy with this - we had a good discussion about things and I told him how I felt about this and other issues.

I have not been home all weekend - and when I got back today I double checked this and low and behold his account is still their and he has been on today!!!!!
AARRRRRGGGHHHHH why are people such liars??? its the moral decline!!!

Im really sorry to hear this. my ex husband did this too. And i got the same lines of crap. By continuing to look you are torturing yourself. hugs!! I would send him packing..but thats just me. Its going to be had to trust if you continue,no?

1) People don't go on dating sites as a joke. Furthermore, if they do, isn't that cruel to the folks on that site who assume others are on the site are sincere and are looking to date? What does that say about his character and honesty?

2) People don't use dating sites like facebook. First off, dating sites are not designed the same way and do not provide the same level of functionality and networking. Also see my comment about being cruel from #1.

3) Promising to delete the account when he gets caught... Well, he should have deleted the account(s) when he started dating you seriously, and certainly when he proposed to you. There's absolutely no excuse to keep it active and be actively using it for _any_ reason at that point.

I'm going to be blunt. He's lieing through his teeth. Make no mistake about it.
