Hi there! First time posting here. My counselor gave me this site and thought it would be helpful to me. I am a 33 year old female with two small children. I have been addicted to alcohol for 2 years after dealing with a emotionally abusive 9 year relationship with my husband. I filed for divorce 2 weeks ago. He got very angry about this when he found out. He called me every name in the book, spread bad rumors about me to his family and friends, told me to kill myself/ that I would be better off dead for my kids, etc. I filed after I went to a short term rehab to get sober.  I am 3 weeks sober.... And going though the hardest time of my life ....

Sounds like alot going on. As if parenting isn't hard enough. Sending much thoughts and prayers. Often breakups just bring out worse in everyone. It's hard. Take it one day at a time.

Congrats on being sober , that’s a big step . I’m not going lie it sucks going through a divorce. But I can tell you , it gets so much better . Everyone deserves to be happy, and you will be again . It just takes time . Take a day at a time

Take this as an opportunity for a new start, congratulations on getting sober and getting out of a bad relationship. Don't pay attention to what your ex might say, only speaks about him. And at the end of the day what matters is only inside yourself. :)

    I'm horrified!  I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000.  I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter.  I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change.  Now this!  I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000.  I guess I have to pay...

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
