So, after 3 months of being single, I am going on my first date. It is a fix up. I know he is in his 50's and fit. I have spoken to him three times. We were supposed to get together last Thursday but, could not because of schedules. So, now this Thursday were are going to dinner. The three times that I have spoken with him, I did not like his phone voice...it sounds older/raspy or something. Has anyone else experienced this?

Meet him. There are always going to be weird little things (Seinfeld used to have this - the woman with man hands, the woman who looked different in shadows, etc., etc.). I would give him a chance, though - he may turn out to be great and the voice may grow into something unique that you like. Or not...that's why it's just a date! :)

Janice too funny! I'm supposed to meet up with a guy, someone I met via a dating site. I just talked to him for the first time a few nights ago. When I first heard his voice I'm thinking, ok that sounds strange, like he's sucking air through his teeth. I'm kinda wondering too. Is this something I can over look when I meet him in person? My ex boyfriend, I love his voice and his laugh. Ok now I miss him again. This will be my first date too, if it ever gets around to that. We've been busy so I'm not sure when I'll actually meet him. I hope it goes well for you. Good luck!

One agreement to meet for a date doesn't constitute a life-long commitment. If his voice is that off-putting--don't go on date #2.

There are all kinds of apps to change your voice on an outbound call. It's too bad there aren't apps to change the voice of the inbound caller, lol. This new app could be my million dollar idea that also brings happiness to those dating the oddly-voiced. ;)

So, I had my first date, he was nice, very nice, but, def not my type! He looked just like his voice sounds, older/ graspy... I am 45 and he is def pushing 60 or close to it...Nothing wrong with age but, that is a little to much older for me. I had 0 attraction to him. Either way, I made a friend.
