Typically, I've posted when I'm in a panic or a really dark place. I thought I'd try it when I was feeling good. My kids came home from their vacation with grandma, and it's so great having them home. Yesterday was the kids' first Father's Day without their dad, and one of the ushers at church gave a Father's Day present to give to my husband. I got to explain that we divorced.

I'm in a really good place right now. Last week, while the kids were gone, I went to a paint and dine thing with a friend one night and a salad party another. I actually cooked dinner 2 nights in a row rather than throwing drive thru at the kids. I've caught up, mostly, on reports I have to write for work. I'm still feeling a lack of motivation, but I'm trying to be more intentional.

The other day my oldest was mad at me, and as usual, called her dad to vent. I heard her saying to her dad how just because I'm not over him doesn't mean I get to ruin her life. Usually, I would tailspin into a total funk, but I calmly told her she can vent to her dad, but she doesn't get to be disrespectful. I also told her that I don't miss her dad, I miss the guy I thought he was.

Anyway, I know I'll drop into a funk again at some point, but today feels good.
