My ex-wife is getting married on saturday, I have been invited to this. The man she is marring is NOT the other man that we split up for.

We have been friends for almost 20 years The divorce was not nasty and we are still to people that have been there for each other over the past 16 months, and I want to see her "happy" as she does me.

My girls asked me if I was going to be there and I told them that I did not know if I would come. Both of them looked at me kind of sad and told me that they would like me to be there.

She has only been with guy for 4 weeks or, But has know him for a couple of years.

Should I go, I am torn as I want to be there for my girls and my friend but there is other stuff involved.

I will get closer with this and I am strangely OK about her being married but I really dont like this fellow that she is marrying.

To go or not to go is the question

Yes, your girls may want you there but you have to do what you need to do for you. If it is going to be painful for you, I wouldn't go. Just explain to your daughters that it will be too painful.

Go, be the rock your girls are going to need, be their strongest supporter. They need to know that your ok. I dont know how you feel about your ex but your kids will need now more than ever. One more thing, stay away from the open bar.

Getting married after 4 weeks???? She has lost her mind. I wouldn't even want my children there. I wouldn't go to anyones wedding that dated for 4 weeks.

If you are OK with it, then by all means go. If you think it will be painful for you then don't go. Reach deep down to see what emotion is deeper or more pronounced.

As for me, I wouldn't go.

If it were me, and it's not, I would go to support my friend and to watch over my kids. I would also pull my friend aside and tell her that I thought she was making a mistake rushing into this. If it's true love and meant to be, he'll be around in a year.
