Ex moved some stuff out tonight!!

So, she asked me to help her move the couches to her new apartment tonight...I was planning on helping, but just didn't have it in me. My oldest daughter (20) Amber came up tonight and we had a father/daughter date and went on a horseback ride...I love that little girl soo much!! Then I came home, made dinner for her and her fiancee, the kids and the Ex....helped them load everything, and then asked my daughter and fiancee if they would do me a favor and take the truck down for me...I just couldn't do it...too much for me...she's moving the rest of the stuff out on Saturday...I will be helping...yeah I know...I'm a rock!! NOT!!! I don't know how I;m gonna do it, but I have a need to help her. Maybe it's just that I still care and this is a vain attempt to be nice....I don't know...so I came back to the bedroom and now I'm watching "Office Space"...I love this movie...anyone got any thoughts...

Just say NO! Really thats all I have, b/c there is no reason for you to care anymore, no good deed goes UNPUNISHED and it won't repair your marriage.

It sounds like you are having a hard time letting go (I know what THAT'S like!)
Hubby is also in the process of getting stuff out. You are not responsible for helping her move. If it is too painfull, tell her. It is really her job. I am glad you have your daughter and fiancee there to support you.
(NB Office Space IS so funny. I worked a modern day slavery job for a bank a few years ago and could so relate)

honestly....i know you guys are still friends....but asking you to help her move is just cruel and unusual punishment on her part...and i don't believe she has any right to ask you to help other than the use of the truck....i moved my x....i know this...and you know that me and every one here cares for you so take our advice to heart....

I helped my stbx move and it was a very strange sensation. If we did not have a child I probably would not have done it at all.

that's why I am doing it...for the kids...they need to see me being amicable, they need to see that people don't have to be rude, vindictive assholes...I wanted to help, but I am so tired from my day and just want to relax and just can't handle any more stress right now

Kevin, as far as I am concerned, that is the only reason for giving the STBX the time of day.

I have told my STBX that when she moves stuff out of our house (starts this weekend), I will help her move it to the garage. After that, she is on her own.

I have also told her I don't ever want to see the OM around our house, even for a minute.

I also helped my STBX pack her moving truck with the furniture she took from the house. That ranks right up there at the top of the list of hardest things I have ever had to do.
