It's just something else that I shake my head at - how things in the relationship were handled - and then he complains about the struggle. Of course it's going to be a struggle if you can't meet another human being with consideration and compassion.
It's COMPLETELY selfish. All that does is assuage the cheater's guilt and does nothing to help the innocent spouse.
Regret - I'm sorry
Responsibility - I did it Remedy - This is what I intend to do to fix it
If the three components aren't there then there is no point opening your mouth.
The person who is receiving the apology may not think the remedy is enough but. That's as good as it gets.
I do not think that is going to change. Oh well
regret or remorse, responsibility and being accountabile for actions, and the remedy part would probably be seen in making efforts to be more considerate in the future.
That's a good clear picture of what it means to appologize. Very true. Thanks.
My former husband never apologizes for anything. Throughout our 18 year marriage he may have apolgized one or two times but then I do remember it wasn't really an apology.
