I tired all the dating sites over the years.... eHarmony got me no where. I did meet my BF on line.... so it can work. Meetup.com got me to socialize again and DS meet ups got me out and making friends.

My sister tried E-harmony. Went on, like 20 dates. All 20 men had put a previous photo. Not one guy looked even close to the picture he'd posted and commented how she looked just like her picture.
She would laugh and say, "that's because it's current" haha
She quit after a year. Said it was not so good.

LOL i was on Cupid.com for 48 hours then closed the account, because I got 50+ emails , most of them from men 15+ years older, who didn't even know I am foreign ( i can only aimagine what would happen if i posted to my profile i wasn't American born), ecchnabged e-mails with a guy who turned out to be a psychopath and chatted with men from states on the other side of the country.......not my cup of tea!
I am in my second serious relationsip after breakup of my marriage, one guy i met on DS and present guy I knew from woring in the same hospital.
I am definitely a fan of going out with someone that people know. We have a lot of mutual friends and I can see what he is like in action, in real life, not what he tells me he is. If the two match, it is a "go".!

Thanks for your replies! I'm doing eharmony right now and have wondered about those pictures!! Mello, thanks for verifying my suspicions. I always wonder what I'm really getting. It also amazes me the age of the men who often show interest! I guess the midlife crises is alive and well on the dating scene!

I did match and the men interested were too old for my taste, lived too far away (probably married) or were too young (wanted a mama). I did date one guy I met on match and he too kept saying how I looked exactly like my profile pics. DUH!

didn't they tell you, that you are supposed to post 15 year old pictures of yourself? That appears to be the standard.

What... I posted pictures of me looking 15 years older than I am... damn... no wonder I only get 80+ year old women contacting me...

In reality, what I found in Online dating... Most 32+ year old single women who make ads want to be cougars... And, they put up pics that are way younger... And, most of the men want to be gigolos.
