Um heave I gotta tell ya. I have had to go to Colonial Beach on multiple occasions for work. There is a testing facility we use there all the time.... and well honey. It sucks there. I am sorry but seriously it does. There is like nothing there.

Byt there is Tims II and I love that place. It's so yummy!! Nothing else about the beach is grande though, unless you're on the Potomac... tanning...and drinking...

I havent hear of Tims II. What is that. I have had to stay up there for like two 3 weeks at a time... sucked for me. Course that could be because we were right by Dahlgren... See what I mean about nothing there... I did say at the Days Inn on the beach there and it was horrible. The electricity went out for like 2 days. There was a construction and biker convention in town, or it felt like it. And the cops kept showing up or the ambulance or the fire department. Yuck was one of the worst experiences. Maybe thats why I am so put off by it

By...you are probably talking about NSWC at Dahlgren. I grew up in Colonial Beach and there are things to do there, as long as it involves the water. There are some good restaurants there as well.

I have to agree some with Kelly, Tims might be a good idea. I could sail down there in a day and spend the day anchored off of Fairview Beach.

yep thats the place Heave and it sucks. They talking about me having to go back there again in the near future. I am dreading it to be honest. The work is fine and all its just I hate being hld up in a hotel for so long with nothing to do

What do you all (or should I say yall) have against the south? Can't we find somewhere farther south so we southern folks can partake? Like maybe Myrtle Beach, meet in the middle? Or just come to my house in Jacksonville. Pleanty to do in Florida!!! Maybe I could get a real cheap flight if I book it months in advance. Please try to settle on a date and place and let we sourthern folks know as soon as possible so we can try to make it. WOuld love to meet you guys in person!

Tims II is at Fairview Beach which is around Mythias Point (where the 301 bridge is over the Potomac). LOL...if I had enough time I would love to meet you guys in Solomins Island, MD but that is a 5 day haul for me. Well, I can run it in a day but the conditions have to be just right. 2 Days there, 1 day to hang out, and 2 days home. We could go to the Tiki Bar and other places there. It would be fin.

Keep me in the loop, y'all. Wherever you end up, I'll want to be there!!!

Another thought is Cobb Island. There isn't much there but Captain Johns is good if it is a short meet-up. Solomins would be a very cool place but that would take some planning and time off on my part because of the long sail to get there.

I would really love to do Solomins. It would be cool to anchor right off of the Tiki Bar and go into to town there.
