Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
Early on when I first found this place we call DS. I met and became close friends with a wonderful, brilliant 29 year old lady. Her DS name is Frittsjones. She has been dealing with a 49 year old abusive drunk, crackhead. For most of the time. He has put her through hell. She got strong enough to LEAVE him this weekend and is really struggling with her decision. I have been in almost constant contact with her but I could use some back up. She will be home from work and log on about 9:00 EST tonight. Please join me in sending her hugs, messages and words of encouragement. He was honestly an awful influence in this ladies life. I am so proud of her! DSers to the rescue! Thanks!!!

She wants and needs all the help she can get to stay strong. You can read her journal and see what she has been through! He was a real prize! She even joined Alanon to try to help him!

you don't join alanon to help the alcoholic, you join to rediscover yourself and realize that you have a life to live. you can't wrap yourself up and live their life for them. your not reponsible for them, only yourself. alanon is not about the alcoholic. fritts you did the right thing, as did i. it's going to take time for you to get through this, but you will. and i can't tell you what a relief it is not to be dealing with a drunk. i love him and miss him, but no drama. it's so awesome. you can do this, do it for yourself. he has to take responsiblity for himself and his own actions.

Thank you all SO much for all of your support! This has been such a hard decision for me..and i'm struggling. All of your support makes me feel so loved and not alone.
