Did you find that you hit a new stage in your "divorce process journey" when you started to notice other men again? For 18 years, I really didn't see men (other than my husband) as sexual beings- I might notice if someone was attractive but that would be the extent of it. Since my stbx and I split- that part of me has been DEAD (a little worried that was going to be the case forever... Yikes!)... but today I actually "noticed" men differently. I have a terrible radar for flirting (apparently I miss the ques...)but I actually realized someone was flirting with me today... and it was FUN! It didn't feel like I was cheating or being inappropriate either- which was a relief. I am certainly not ready to go take a romp with a stranger- but it was nice to know that my interest isn't dead! Was I just living in a cave throughout my marriage or can anyone relate to this new found interest/freedom? Just curious....

I can SOOOO relate to that. I thought that part of me was dead also but.... there was this guy at the Jeep dealership when i took my car in for service...He got my attention and I would have never noticed him before... It made me blush!

In the beginning after I found out about his affair, I was big time anti-men. I was BIG time bitter about the opposite sex. Then as time when by, therapy, being surounded by friends. Realized not all men are like that, there are really good decent loving men in this world. Just because I didn't marry one doesn't mean they don't exist.

Yep you go girl, nothing wrong with flirting. It can be fun! :)

I am noticing that a wider variety of "types" appeal to me now than what I looked for in my 20's.

Soakintears... honestly- I bet they are flirting with you- you probably just aren't noticing- I wasn't getting it either when it was subtle (when it's obvious it's usually pretty creepy)... I find that just making eye contact and smiling can start a little bit friendlier conversation...

Vac- all women are not terrible... and now you have that way cool bike... watch out who you will attract!

Yaiy!!! What an amazingly wonderful post. Although I was never married, I was in relationship long enough to not even notice other guys hitting on me, or at least having some totally blase reaction when they did.

Like... I was asked in the grocery store... The dudes friend came up to me and told how his buddy has wanted to ask me out but won't so he was doing it. Oh man, what a good feeling:)

Getting up the nerve to ask someone out could be a lot. I know it would be for me.

I am really, really happy for you. It's only going to get better and better.
