since most of us here were the ones who voted to stay together despite the troubles, i believe that you are asking the wrong party this question.

NO REGRETS!!! My marriage was very important to me, but sadly, the marriage was not to my husband. He was a serial cheater, a narcissist and was very emotionally abusive towards me. I tried very hard to make it work out, but once I learned about narcissism, I had to surrender myself to the truth; that the man I married would never change. It was best for me to leave. It's been 5 months since the divorce, and no regrets at all.

I do not regret the breakup with my previous boyfriend. He was abusive, selfish, and not into me. He was into himself. Narcissistic people do not have the capacity to understand that loving someone is a recipricol proces. Not all about ME.

its funny,the last 2 comments referenced narcissism....and the incapacity of their love,etc...well b4 this site ,I found another that somewhat described my ex(she had many narcissitic traits---at least according to my scorecard---) so at some point beating the dead horse of whys in life...just doesnt work...the whole serenity prayer thing may be the simplest yet effective advice...be thankful,enjoy what you have and take it from there...

I didn't leave......so the only regret that I will have is if I don't work w/ my husband and try to resolve any issues we have had.....and our issues are fixable....no fidelity or abuse......so for me i believe there is always hope.

I wish I had been able to come to the point of making her leave sooner.. but it took as long as it did to realise that she would never change.

I do "regret" that my life ended up this way, so many wasted years with someone who had so little respect for me and subtly emotionally abused me.

I just hope I can find the right lady for me so that I can be happy.

Thank you dbj17 I can only try........and I will.....I have to....he expects me to give up......and something tells me that is what he wants me to do......so, he can include me with the only few people that he as ever had in his life........that gave up........

I have fleeting regrets that come and go about our history and my own behavior. But I do not regret the break up and I will not regret the divorce. We would be here at the end anyway even if I had been perfect.

I regret letting him back into my life several times when it should have been clear to me that it was over.

I regret exposing my children to him for so long.

I regret thinking that he was a normal human being.....not!

My H cheated and then left me when he was caught. So, I guess it's slightly different for me. I don't regret anything I have done since then (legal action etc). I realize we were unhappy and would likely have divorced anyway, but it certainly didn't have to happen the way it did.
