Divorcing after 11 years

Trying to cope with making myself happy for the future and trying to stay strong during making the choice to divorce .   he does not want me to go , but yet wont give me what i need.

I don't know what your needs are so it's hard to comment however, 11 yrs. is a long time to be married then, decide to divorce. Are there children involved, is he abusive, is he controlling? These are all things that can cause a divorce but, like I said, it's difficult to comment when few information is stated.

Agree with Oldbiker, it's hard to give advice without more info. People grow apart for numbers reasons. I know a couple breaking up after 25 yrs that stayed together for the kids. Or another that broke up after 20 yrs because he started drinking and they didn't have kids.

You are choosing divorce for you it sounds since he doesn't want you to go. Everyone in life deserves to be happy. Life is short. If he's not meeting your needs, or will to try - counseling, improving, than it's best to be on your own.

Making the choice to divorce is never easy. I have been there with my husband of almost five years. I was done and just wanted to be happy. He wasn’t fulfilling my needs and I just had enough. We were on the brink. It took both of us openly talking and working through our marriage to get it better. We started attending marriage counseling, and have been faithfully at it for over a year now. I realize that you have been married a whole lot longer then I, but is it worth saving? During my time of questioning and not knowing what to do, I really reflected on my life and tried to imagine life without my spouse. It was very lonely and difficult. I don’t know your circumstances that have lead you to this point, and I don’t need to know. Just know there is someone praying for you. Regardless of your decision, it will he hard either way.

    My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...
