OK, this is more for the ladies, but I'd love to hear the guys opinions on this too...
How many of you are filing for divorce due to STBX's porn obsession or addiction? This is my main reason for leaving (aside from his verbal and emotional abuse). The porn has my self-esteem so low, and I no longer trust him or believe a word he says. He hits me when I make a big deal about the porn (this is the only reason he's beaten me into a buised mess).
Anyone else divorcing for the porn problem? Or, am I just being petty???
Please tell me I'm not insane!!!

I didn't divorce my ex for the porn though yes, it did bother me treadmedously. I left the bastard because of him hitting me, and his bad anger issues - not only was I afraid of getting hit again but also for the sake of my son. ~shelly&jt~

You're not insane but get the hell away from somebody who hits you, you do not deserve it! Get out now! I am divorcing for the porn problem, just lost my respect for the man and he didn't work either - Next....

anykind of porn is degrading...women exposing their bodies for money as in an object..its teaching our society to pay attention to something else and not ur woman...there are perverts that look at porn called "barely legal"these girls look like they are 14 and its disgusting...I like looking at attractive men just like men like to look at attrative women..thats no big deal but I don't have to look a some man hanging on to his privates when I can look at someone Im in a relationship with..wooo hooo that healthy and emotionally a turn on..and thats where my attention would be..if someone is tired and not attracted to what they have then why get married or be in a relationship....helloooo
lust is lust and had no other name and I have no problem with someone being single and looking at it but why be in a relationship and make someone feel ugly and used..plain stupid..I want to take naughty pictures of the one Im with ohhh yea

There are websites that explain pornography addiction, if anyone needs to learn about it-second hand.

First hand, it is not a nice thing to live with.

But it does "tend" to run together with physical abuse, and this man has escalated. She just needs to go, and everyone needs to forget whether they think that pornography is OK or not.

You are not being petty and you are not insane. The emotional and mental abuse go along with the porn. Although my STBX never escalated to physical abuse with me, it does happen. I felt like I was going insane. I doubted everything. He had me doubting eveything. And yes, I left because of his porn addiction and the behaviors that grew out of it. I have finally reallized that he does not respect me. He thinks he loves me, but right now the only person he thinks about is himself.

I agree with it being associated with not respecting a woman...but the bigger issue is being safe and leaving before he hurts somoeone..on both issues I would leave...
