i have a step daughter (i dont call her my ex step daughter) that i miss like crazy. she is about 9 hours away. if i even had one set weekend with her a year i would plan, replan, have a back up for my back up plan just to ensure i got to see her. because thats how important it is. i wish i would have thought to put that in the divorce decree. it disgusts me how selfish my exhusband is. he has the opportunity to be with this beautiful angel child - to be a full time dad. and instead, he chooses to be out driving truck all the time - not choosing a trucking company that he could do day shifts with - his sister raises his child. i dont get it. they have the luxury of disregarding their children - because they think their children are always going to be there. its going to be a rude awakening for them (these fathers and mothers) when they are snubbed by their children.
i am sorry that this happens to your son. i know it must be hard for you to see. i am thankful that he has such a stable parent like you that he knows he can count on. xoxo
My EX does everything she can to push me out of their lives, while I have fought so hard for what I do have... I just can't imagine.
He's even cheating himself. At some point in his life, he's going to realize just much he's missed.
and that just sucks.
I have sole custody, he has supervised visits.
Its horrible for him to pay child support and he chooses not to have a relationship with his son..which is fine...
But
When we split..I offered him the choice of just walking away. He never wanted anything to do with the child....I knew this, he knew it but he refused.
I hate that my son has to go through this and feel his rejection. Thats what bothers me about it.....
Reminds me of my father - was a verbally abusive alcoholic when I was growing up. Moved out when I was 17, and I didn't hear from him for 3 years after that. No idea where he was or what he was up to. Came back into my life right before I got married and was a completely different person. Now pleasant to be around and no longer drinking, smoking or gambling. Now I enjoy his company, but if he was the same person he was before, I would have nothing to do with him now.
