Hi Get: I wanted to let you know that MTV has a show called Catfish. A Catfish in internet language is someone that creates false identities in social networking sites to pursue deceptive online romances. If you think about catfish in the water, they are known as "bottom feeders" and that's a good reason why the internet liar is named a Catfish.

An internet Catfish typically uses photos of a friend, relative or model and claims it is them to interest the other person. What some posters do is ask for a photo with a newspaper or the current date so that it makes it harder for the Catfish to continue if they are not legit. But if they have a close resource, they can take pictures with a date and send them and still lie.

The Catfish does not want to meet you because they have lied to you about who they really are. The latest Catfish that was found out on the MTV Catfish show was claiming to be a young handsome man and reeled in 3 women. Turned out the Catfish was really a woman and had been reeled in about 40 women.

I try to watch the MTV Catfish shows to see what MTV finds the various Catfish doing and they typically lie about their age, their photo, how many kids they have, and they don't want to meet up,
MTV found the one Catfish was sending his high school photos and that's because MTV and the other person met him and he was 600 pounds. He lied about his weight.

DS = Dating site ... I used to find funny, but no longer do. There are real people here with real issues and its unfortunate that there were and are people here for the wrong reasons. That some took and take advantage of the vulnerability of members because of a false sense security some members felt being on a support website with people who supposedly were going through the same thing, knew how it felt and supposedly cared about each other.

All dating websites charge. They do so in order to try to have a customer base of value and weed out the bottom dwellers. But just cus you pay, doesn't mean you are going to get quality. They best way to meet someone is to get up and out and do things for yourself that you like. A partner will come along when they are suppose to.

I have to take this "DS = dating site" thing one step further. People who come here are dealing with issues and pain they have about a relationship that ended. Logically, this would be the worst place to find someone to start a relationship with.

I've heard a lot of people's success stories about dating sites lately. All of them went through quite a few people before they found someone they were really compatible with though. I've heard a few people who had great luck with christian sites.
