So very true. The whole process is just stupid and just a pain in the ass.
Today I am just taking it easy on my day off. I get a text from a chick that I had a date with about three months ago. I was attracted to her but I figured that she wasn't interested. We end up setting up a date.
During the date I find out that a lot of her life was up in the air when she told me that she was getting really busy and she couldn't really hang out (this was a few months ago). It has settled back down and she is staying in the area that she is currently living at. I figure cool.
The date went well. I dropped her off back at her place and walked her to her door. Got a big hug and then went on my way back home. Now I am left with the question: Is she interested?
I can't tell at all. I really would like to know these things but it isn't obvious. It is like a game to try to figure out if the girl likes me or not and I suck at it! I am sure that she can figure out that I am interested. Then I am trying to figure out if she is just into dating or she is looking for something more than just a casual companion.
All be it, this was a second date, or sorts. We have already had the first date three months ago.
Does anyone else wish that the process was much easier? Wouldn't it be nice if you knew what you were getting into when you went on a date and you knew what the other person was thinking of?
I hate games like this.

Some people would say that I have been somewhat successful. In the past 6 months I have probably been on 12 different dates, or so. The problem is that nothing has come out of these dates.
I want a connection, something real. Yes, a little T & A would be great, but honestly I won't do that unless the connection is there. Damn it has been a very long time and I don't see that happening anytime soon so I am use to it (hell, no different than my marriage anyway).
Sure you might not like the answer you get, but then you know.
Man would it be hot to have a guy be so bold and up front! ...And the kahonees to ask if it is mutual.
...but in a tough bad boy tone of course. ; )
Usually, I don't see any hints at all and I just leave the date scratching my head. That is unless I am definitely not interested and, as luck has it, they are very interested and make it abundantly clear. ARGH!!!!!!!!!
If I don't, I block their number. :)

I definitely didn't read any signs that she was interested in a kiss or anything more. We did touch hands and I held hers oh so briefly and it didn't seem that she was really interested in doing that but at the same time she wasn't pulling her hand away too quickly either.
Anyone care to put some thought into that?
I can tell you I would be hesitant to go sailing with someone I didn't know really well for lots of reasons. Perhaps suggest another date where there are exits that don't involve jumping overboard. Nothing personal...just safety first.
