I am on two dating sites. I have chatted online and through texting with a number of guys. We go along with the usual: how long you been doing this, any luck, what do you do, blah, blah then....

either the conversation goes to cuddling, cuddling, cuddling (not really sure what this means - is this a euphinism for sex now?)

or

do you want to meet ( but with no specifics about when/where).

I have had the following response over and over:

I say - "Nice chatting - we'll do it again?"

He says - "yeah, we need to meet in person" and then I never hear from them again.

Am I supposed to initiate the meeting? Is it at this point that I need to make a suggestion as to the where and the when?

It seems funny to chat on and on and then nothing - as tho it's up to me to be the forward one.

Have you tried to date without using the internet?

What about dance classes, yoga, supermarket, coffee house, charitable organization, political organization, church social, etc.

There are many ways you can go with this. Many men who are in this stage of life are somewhat gun shy. They are either told that they are non-committal by society or that they do not understand women or what they need and texting or chatting is safe because they do not have to face their own insecurities.

WTF, the buck always stops with men because it has to stop somewhere. we have to learn to blow it off and laugh about it. it is important that we don't take too much to heart.

women who claim that men don't understand women don't realize that it isn't our job to understand them. that's their responsibility. our job is to commit and try to figure out how to work with them.

I thought dating would be easy too. I joined Christian Mingle and nothing has come of it. Some emails back and forth here and there. I did speak once to one guy and he decided to text me three days in a row before 6am. On the third day, I told him not to text me that early in the morning and that he could call me in the evening. Needless to say he never called me in the evening or texted me again.

I think they are just trying to see if your interested in them. I have been on a couple of sites and if I had been chatting a few times and she said she wanted to meet before i did, I would be ok with that and happy. That means to me that we are getting along

I think they are chatting to see how far they can chat with you. You have to do a whole lot of weeding before you can find a real one, an unmarried one or one who is from the same country.

Do what feels right. I've asked guys out that I've met at speed dating or online & also waited for the guy to ask me out.
