until you first meet, nothing counts. it is all imaginary until the first meeting.
and, don't date guys who live too far away. a woman wrote to me who lived 300 miles away and actually expected me to drive there to meet her. lol
be very, very careful and make a conscious decision NOT to be the first one to fall in love. that one forfeits their power.
People from the internet are scary monsters and should be left to their own devices!
seriously.
you can't make this stuff up. well, maybe you could but i didn't.
I think there are some decent people on the internet but I think it's wise to be cautious. Chat, then email (with an email that doesn't identify you), then talk on the phone, then meet in a public place. If you can find them on another social media like Facebook or Twitter that may give you some insight into who they are before you meet in person because you can see their friends & thoughts from a non-dating outlet.
I have all the safety stuff down, just wondering if it isn't a bit too forward to say, after chatting/texting for a bit, "so, do you want to meet at Charlotte Pier for an ice cream?"
I'm very comfortable with the whole dating thing. I really want to date, but to keep it very loose. Where I feel strange initiating is I don't want to come off too strong nor desperate (as I am not either of those things). But it appears that by not initiating anything at all I seem to be coming off as pretty cold.
If you want to ask to have coffee, do.
The whole... "I have my secrets" thing is old hat. A woman and her wiles... if you keep skirting communication in a direct form, it leaves those cracks, which turn into holes, which turn into a crevasse, and before you know it, it's the Grand Canyon, and you are back here again. LOL. A little dramatic, but you get the point.
I LOVE ABBOTS!!!!!! I used to live in Rochester so you bring back fond memories. Love their Turtle.
Lol, sorry again, back to your regularly scheduled programing.......
Now if you asked me out for an initmate dinner after the first "hello" then yeah- too much.
