As bad as I feel and the shoulda woulda couldas running through my mind, I have absolutely no control over anything to do with our relationship. He made sure of that.
I just need to do more for me and hope that I can stop him being in my mind so much.
And she was so good at bringing up questions to make me think and realise issues.
I'm glad you are finding it beneficial.
Debmul, absolutely,
No one can make you feel weak or judged by seeking help. I have been told by a few people to in essence "man up" "get over it" "It's been 8 months and you're still upset?"
Yes. Because there is no time limit for this. I loved so deeply and trusted so fully. More than I ever thought myself capable of. That trust was torn apart by a scared little man. What scared him? Commitment? Being an us for the rest of his life? Not getting to be the free spirit regardless of the fact I never chained him down or demanded anything of him?
So no one can tell me that I should be over my relationship of so long. No one can tell you that you are weak for trying to help yourself. I would go for it. It s indeed a great way to organise those thoughts and feelings and have a specialists views and advice on them. Especially great if they know what they are talking about and are understanding of the pain you have been through.
Be strong miss. Let us hope we get better, that we can be happy again and that perhaps our ex's are happy slapped by a whale.
I just know if I hadn't gone for a talk I would have collapsed or something from all the pressure. Not being able to sleep, that twat actually being in my dreams, not knowing quite who I am and what I want etc. It was all getting jumbled and a bit too much. I hope you get a good counsellor!
