Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
The child within probably was told as a child that divorce is bad. That sticks with kids. Now when you are experiencing divorce as an adult, it brings up the childhood issue. Be sure that you tell the inner child that divorce is not bad, but instead will keep her safe with you and that she will be okay. That you two will have a better life together. Be positive and encouraging. Many hugs.
It's a process and it will take as long as it needs to. Remember to allow yourself to feel a full range of emotions. Don't let yourself get stuck too long in any one feeling or you can sabotage your progress. Talk about what you are going through with trusted friends and/or a counselor. I found writing in a journal to be a big help too. Good luck.
