I was told yesterday that I am throwing my life away with this man..No, I threw my life away with the men of my past..I feel it is now my time to live my life the way I want to live it.
I want to live alone..
For me, I would want (still do want), to be married. Just having that commitment, that eternal friend, that sense of home..... It's something I strive for again......
So although I have procreated, I still long for the companionship and intimacy of a relationship.......
to me, marriage only works if BOTH people understand what marriage is and respect that. They both have to want forever. there has to be loads of trust, but also trust in what marriage is... I am in no rush to figure this out, but a DSer said it best when asked if they would try marriage again and the answer was "only with someone else who valued marriage, yes" . Not sure how you figure that out for SURE, but thinking about that... Marriage is legally binding, but also a sacrament and a teeny tiny part of me still believes in it, when i see my parents' love or some other marriages of my friends and family... I believe in other committed relationships, too. :)
I've done the band camp thing *censored*
At my age, I prefer a monogamous, trusting, FUN, passionate and loving relationship which can lead to marriage...
It is okay if I don't find it but, it is a desire of mine.

A higher objective might be to find happiness.

In the context of your note "sexual intimacy" sounds like an oxymoron. You might be happier spending a few hours feeding the homeless.
Godspeed
I guess my question is what's the point of being committed if you're NOT going to get married.
Not judging or whatever. Just asking.
*I think the cold meds might be kicking in*
She's always saying she never wants to be hurt again. She also says she will not live past 50 because she doesn't want to die alone in old age.
Bugs the hell out of me to see her take one fat assed failed relationship to the extreme.
I know for a fact that I can be in a committed relationship without being married..One day maybe I will find this, until then the FWB is working for me..
