I have my court date on 8/11/09 for child support not looking forward seeing him, but anyway. Since I don't have a lawyer I am filling out the papers myself. My stbx has started to give me 600 dollars every two weeks, well to be honest sometimes less. Anyway my questions is on the financial disclosure form I guess I need to put this down, but where do I write this in. I know that they go back to the day you filed so this money he started to give me will be considered. Also can you put in comments because I am on his health insurance until the divorce, but then I will have to get my own so it would be a future expense not current. And finally from anyone who has been there what is the process, what should I expect that day? I am in NY I dont' know if that matters. There might be things you could help me with that I have not thought of.
I ask this all because I wasted my time this morning by going to family court to get help with all this and they told me they do not do this.

Oh and you're lucky being in NY, child support usually runs until 21 there.

If you have things to explain ,you can always add an attachment sheet since sometimes the forms don't have enough room. I practice in California so can't help you with New York law or procedure.

A few thoughts:
(a) Childcare costs. Will your children be in childcare while you work? This is usually listed as an expense for the custodial parent, so he may have to pay that if you are shouldering most of the childcare costs
(b) Health insurance - yes, put in "future" expense, although my guess is you need to list the kids only when factoring in health care costs. I don't believe he would be responsible for paying your costs, just the kids.
