Basically everyone here who said go with your "gut" feeling was right. I moved out friday, and sunday she claimed to want to talk to the kids early so she could go to bed at 7pm. Ive known Carrie since she was 17, she doesnt go to bed at 7pm unless she is deafly ill.
So I let the kids talk to her, and then an hour and 1/2 later I went over there. She had the house all shut up and dark but I knew she was in there. I called her phone and told her I wasnt leaving the garage till she opened the door.
She did, and I walked to the bedroom and found the dude hiding like a little woman in he bathroom in the dark. Fortunetely for him I am no longer the guy I was 5 years ago, OR I would be in jail this morning instead of typing this.
We talked and she claims it just started and that it was mostly to get back at me for the pain and anger she feels from our years together. She claims she still loves me and wants us to still be good friends. I just dont know what to feel or believe. I know now that she is capable of looking me in the eyes and lying without remorse. I NEVER thought she was capable of that.
I think im still in shock, because other than a bit of anger I dont know how I feel inside. Im scared the shock will wear off soon and I will be so devastated I will stop breathing.

I to am glad I was able to hold back on the girlfriend because I would have killed her if it was not for my kids. Keep your cool, you don't want anything to keep you from your kids.

Just the thought of talking to another woman in anything but a casual way right now makes me sick to my stomach. I certainly will not be ready to 'date' for a very long time.........
I just dont get it....Damn.

She wants to take the rest of the day off of work and spend it here with me talking.
I am so confused. She seems genuinely upset and hurt; but at the same time the person I used to know, to me, is gone. So how do I trust this new person?
