The grief and pain is real. Unfortunately we all go through it and there is no set timeline to feeling better. Take the time to work on yourself. Exercise is a great stress reliever. Try to get the proper sleep. That one is a hard one for myself. Having no contact helped me too. I think staying no contact helped me realize there was no point over agonizing over someone that has checked out and had no feelings for me.
We will all get to the place where we want to be eventually. It's been almost 6 months now for me and I have come a long way. I have to keep working at it. I hope you get the help you need. Be strong. -HUGS-

It is so devastating and painful when your partner just goes away when you less expect it. So sudden, so abrupt.. You even did not have time to prepare yourself. Horrible.
May be we shall start a new topic on this board " My life after he left" and ask people to post successful and happy ending stories of how to overcome break ups and move on.
I read this forum frequently and I am shocked of how many people are going through the hell. Are there any one who build its life, fall in life again, re-married?
It sounds like you are getting advice from many people? Sometimes too much advice and too much talking about the situation can make it even more confusing. Sometimes it is best to just sit quietly by yourself. I used to do that, pray, and just listen for God's response. Sometimes I got more guidance by doing that than all the other avenues that I was using. You know yourself better than anyone and you know your husband too. What does your heart say you should do?
Sorry this has happened to you but at least it was only 8 yrs. Small comfort perhaps but it's better than 20 or 30.
