Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
It sounds like this guy has little to offer you, and honestly, if you broke up because you asked him to move out, then perhaps he was only sticking around because you were providing for him. It sounds like a co-dependent type situation, where you are being the care-giver. I've done it myself, and over time, it will burn you out. It sounds like this guy needs to grow up and perhaps you have done him a favor. Because you have stopped enabling him, he will have to struggle with his issues and learn to take care of himself; well that, or he won't, but it isn't your job or your concern. Let it go.
Take care of yourself and work on your our healing. I may take some time, but you will feel like yourself again and be glad that you moved on. This opens the door for some thing better to come into your live, down the road.
You need to do some things to get you out of this funk you are in so that you don't try to get into or go back to an unhealthy relationship just to feel better. Reconnect with and spend time with friends, get on meet-up and join a local hiking group, take an art class, try yoga, exercise when you are depressed (it creates feel-good endorphins), maybe get a therapist to talk to until things get better. Get emotional support from others.
It's difficult now, but you know that you are doing the right thing. You will grow from this, and eventually, you will be happy you did what you did,
