So my girlfriend of three and half years just broke up with me, I would say that it was my fault I take full responsibility for what happened. I guess she hated the fact that I ignored her certain times, but she would just give me the full field press. What are you doing, who are you with, where are you, like no trust at all. I was just like I need some space so I just ignored her messages for like a month. Then I sent her a text little to behold she blew up on me breaking up with me in a text message. All I asked was if she was okay and that I miss her. I can't believe she broke up with me over a text message and I guess my question would be. "Is that even a legitimate way to break up with someone" and she even does things like that to me over Facebook when she is upset she won't even talk to me just sends me messages saying "I'm pissed goodnight" like what the fuck? Why can't she just say it to my face and own up to what she is believing. Anyway that's my little rant hope I get responses!

Hmm well I was in a similar situation with your girlfriend. NO girl likes it when you ignore their messages, and it gets old very quick. I was with my bf for two years and it just wears on you if you don't get the time the relationship deserves. Ignoring only makes things worse. It is not right that she broke up with you via text though...it's only decency to talk to the person, especially after a long term relationship.

hey you needed space so you nacked off..... not nice for you not to tell the girl I would have been pissed if I was ignored for a month.
Did she text and message you all through the month?
I ask because i am wondering if she had backed off sooner if you would have missed her sooner?

No we just were not talking. Plus we go to separate schools so if I don't talk to her it just makes it impossible to contact each other. The thing is she just doesn't trust me. She always asks what I am up to and who I am with just like do you really think I am with someone else it upsets me to think she can't trust me in a relationship especially since we have been together for so long. Meanwhile she is the one going to parties while I stay home because I have track & field and I can't go and party I have responsibilities.

haha we are both 20 I have been with her since I was 17 I've known her very closely since I was 15 I have always imagined I would stay with her, we used to fight all the time off and on but always got over it never let it get to serious, but my worst fear is she isn't kidding around this time. I've never seen her put up a guard like this before. I am scared I won't get her back she just wants to be single there is nothing I can do about that...

Ignoring someone for a month who you "claim to be in a relationship with" - is definitely without a doubt in my mind a good enough reason to dump a someone.

Gotta have trust, that essential to communication.... Sounds like you care about this girl.... Have you tryed talking with her? I mean one can only do so much before you draw the line... Don't beat a dead horse (not saying that you are) think about yourself in all if this.... If she care's and wants to be with you she will come back around.. and if she does try to reflect, ask yourself what do you want with this? Do you care for her enough to go the distance and make it work? But first and foremost protect yourself... think before you act.. and remember your young and have alot of life to live people to meet...
