I hope the passage of time will put things into perspective. Letting go of angry feelings is a process. Anger serves a purpose as long as you do not hurt yourself or someone else.
Hugs to you.
Anger,, Handling a Powerful Emotion in a Healthy Way by Gary Chapman.
For me, getting over anger was actually the easiest part for me. I had spent my entire relationship being angry, so by the time we broke up, I just didn't have the energy for it anymore.
Also, I have learned that anger is just a secondary emotion that we use when we are afraid to admit to how we really feel. Anger is easier, so we have to look deep inside and reflect on how we really feel and what the anger is covering up. That knowledge has really helped me out. Also, its important to understand your own triggers. How do you start to feel physically when you are getting angry, if you are more aware of your own body, you will better be able to stop the anger before it gets out of control. That is what I am working on, and it really helps.
Xanax also helps, lol.
Historynerd28 you are right about a lot of what you said, I suppose that I have so much other emotions in me besides the anger that I have not resolved. I don't know I guess I have to figure out why he can still push my buttons with such hatred that it makes me crazy. My whole marriage was him getting so mad, and me backing down. I think that now I just want to show him I am not that person he can push around. I don't know that might just be part of it, I think its also still the old anger and resentment I never got to get out on him I never got to scream and tell him to go to hell, I never got to tell him I don't believe you and your lies, and It is eating me away and I need to get past it. My therapist tells me that by divorcing him I did this but that is not a physical release.
