I am bored again. Went to a get together with a bunch of my co-workers and it was fun and nice to have company outside of work, but my social circle is just so small. Sucks to live in an area that is kind of rural.

Oh...I was texted by the chick that stood me up last night. She said that she fell asleep and slept for 12 hours. I told her that she owed me a date and she asked when I was off again. I told her Wednesday so we may do something then. Who knows but I hate dating because it is all about rules and games and I am so out of touch and over with that shit it isn't even funny. People tell me to have fun but it is like being at a job interview and that isn't fun.

Hard to get out and meet people when you don't go out. I am not the most social person and seldom get outside my social circle.

Anyone else in the same boat?

No one wants to be around me; my divorce is like the plague!!!!!!!
So I am in a boat; just going and going.....
Yup it's hard to date; the games and all. I see my friends get all dressed up and get a first date; then no second date......LOL! No not funny; but it is a job interview and a game...........
Maybe that's why I have a dog and many movies to watch right now!!!!!!!LOL!

I so understand. I also live in a small rural area and have no real friends. Don't want to go to the bars - what am I going to find there? Don't think I will find anyone. Just grow old alone and lonely

I miss summer already. I could use a few weeks off, good wind, and no destination. I am sure that I could find a few new places to sail to.

Your level of expectation and complain about lack of social life spells to me like you are not ready to date....dating comes with its pearls, taking them this hard is not worth, meaning the emotional cost is still too high for ya, wait a little longer after you are off the roller coaster..the roller coaster has very little to do with other ppl, you know, but lots to do about how you deal with the downturns of dating. Don`t worry, you will be cute, handsome and sexy 1 yr from now too ...wink wink

yes I have an extremely small social circle is use to consist of two people me and my STBX then I went through this and I was down to one but then I said screw it and I grabbed the closest unmarried coworker and have been running with her if not all by myself. Only way I am going to get a bigger circle is to go out and try things even if I don't think I am interested in trying it at the time. One never knows. I am all about the experience right now.

Oh..it is not the downturns that I mind...it is the lack of perdictibility of it. Hell, the only thing that you can count on is that the date will begin, sometimes, and it will end at some point in time.

I feel like I am ready to date and I have been out with 6 different people. I just understand the rules of this game and that is fustrating.

Honestly... DS is about the closest I come to a social circle. Gotta get me one of those locally, I guess.

I am thinking the best you can do as far as dating is be yourself, go with your gut, who you are. Rules and games... protocol? Just be you and you'll do fine.

It is funny you said that...I was thinking about starting my own band of cutthroat pirates around here but there are only land lubbers here! LOL. Now that cold weather is here I miss my friends from down at the docks but I won't see most of them until April. Then again, all my friends there are all married and older than I am. CRAP.

It is like being a meat eater stuck with the salad bar.
