Beyond terrified to leave... need advice!

I've been with my husband for 11 married and almost 15 dating years. I got married when I was 19.
Our relationship over the years has been amazing and toxic always. But now that I'm 30, I think it's finally time to walk away. It's a long story, but the short of it is that we're just not compatible anymore and we treat each other terribly. He think's we're making progress, and that I'm not still "one foot out, but I took the step to look for an apartment on my own. And I know as soon as I decide, all hell is gonna break loose. PLEASE HELP with any advice.
