I defintely felt really lonely in my marriage... it really stinks... being "alone" is far less sad than feeling lonely (for me at least)....

Yeah... I get that lonliness, too... but at least now I do something about it... in my marriage I just hoped he would "show up" and I was really isolated... Here's a hug for you Jaken- to less lonely days ahead!!

"Feeling lonely when you're in a relationship is much worse than feeling lonely when you're single." True, been there, done that. It's worse because you know you shouldn't feel lonely because you are married.. you get no understanding if you share that with your closest friend, because no one in a good marriage feels that way... ugh. You can also feel lonely in a crowded room. It's all about how you're feeling internally.. whether you feel connected to people or not. Very hard to feel connected to a man who isn't coming home until 3am, which I tried explaining to the marriage counselor a year before we separated.

I've felt lonely in my marriage for sure. In fact, there were nights where I'd be home alone with the girls and after I put them down I'd look around and no one was there. My stbx would be "out" with friends. I would sometimes talk to my friends and be like wait itsn't this why I got married so I don't have to spend a Friday or Saturday night alone? I'm not talking about once in a blue moon...if that was the case I'd be fine with it as I do like my alone time, it was sometimes where it was somewhat repetitive and I didn't want to be home alone all the time. I felt like a babysitter for my stbx so she could go out and I watch the girls...that's a lonely feeling.

I mean how many Friday nights did I wait for him to drive home (he lived 2.5 hours away) while I'm starving just so we could go out to dinner with his parents?
