Hit him up for child support then use it as leverage to get him to sign off his rights.
The only reason I haven't is because as far as I know he is still living with his mom and if he pays child support he has the right to get visitation. I don't want my son anywere near that woman. She threatened me and my son when I was pregnant and said that she was going to pray for a miscarrage because she didn't want the baby.
Anyway thanks again for listening and helping me I really appreciate it.
If I were you put your sneakers on and tie them real tight and RUN with your son as fast as fast as you can. He is a loser. And his mother...don't you love when the mother's get involved - they are adults. I had one like that...take her off of your friends list on FB and him too!!! Oh that makes me so angry.
You deserve better than that and you should want more for yourself and your son.
The question of loving really isn't ever the crux of the issue.
WE LOVE. That's what we do.
And ultimately, you will see, what matters in the end is how YOU loved and love a person, who YOU are as a person. Your faithfulness to him, to yourself and to your child is what you are putting out in the world. And eventually, you will attract to you the kind of people you want to have in your life. Good, faithful, kind, loving people.
I wish the best for you!
He isn't worth my tears anymore...
If you haven't arleady done so, go into Privacy Settings and at the bottom is Block Lists. Add both mother and son to your block list. Unfriending isn't enough, as evidenced by his mom sending you nasty messages. When you add them to your block list they cannot 'see' you on fb. They can't view your profile or send you messages.
Boy, did you ever get screwed! How low of him to make a baby with you and then just fade away!!!!!
I'm glad that you're going to see a lawyer!! I hope some good comes of it!!
You sound like you are handling things wonderfully!!!! Good for you!
Keep it up, mom!!!! (((((Hugs)))))
Custody and support are two mutually exclusive areas of law in most states. Call your local bar center (legal bar for your county) they should be able to refer you to a lawyer specializing in family law for a nominal fee. (In my state and county its $50, but ma be different where you live.) You get 30 min to an hour with an attorney and they can tell you what your rights are and what he can and cannot do according to the laws in your state.
Even if I did get child support my lawyer told me that before I got any money he would have to pay back medicaid for all our sons medical expenses (and there are a lot of them because our son has been very very sick) and he would also have to pay back the workforce commission for everything they have paid toward daycare expenses. Then after that he would have to take out private health insurance for our son (which just isn't going to happen). After all that then I would get back and current child support. I just don't know that it is worth all that trouble.
