Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.

I think pain and recovering from a breakup is universal despite age, sex or whatnot.
Welcome to the group
I have just gotten out of a serious dating relationship that lasted almost 2 years (he was starting to talk very openly about marriage with me). I want to date again. I think it is too soon though for me, as I want to heal and completely get this man I was dating out of my mind. I actually initiated the breakup back in November 2015, got back together for a little while until I initiated the breakup again in February 2016. I did no contact very well for approximately 2 months by blocking his phone number completely and also taking everything having to do with him off of my FB page, along with blocking him, his family members and close friends, and then ended up making the huge mistake of answering an email message that he had sent to me (I had his phone number blocked on my phone at the time). We were supposed to meet one of the first days in April to see if the relationship we had, had a chance any longer. That meeting did not take place, as I had a car accident on the way to the meeting with him, and the rest of the day was not good for me to meet due to extreme emotional exhaustion from the ups and downs of our dating relationship and then the emotional toll that the car accident took on me that day. (I thought about this accident happening a lot... like it was a total sign from the Holy Spirit showing me that if I ever did get back with him again, that it would be a total wreck and the relationship would still keep causing a lot of destruction and pain in my life.) I did good for another approximate two months with having no contact with him until two weeks ago by me taking three of his personal items back to him without seeing him. I left them in a secure place outside of his home by his vehicle. I then made the huge mistake of unblocking his telephone number to see if he had any comments about getting his things back. We started communicating via text again, and it all came to a head yesterday for me where I blocked and deleted his number for good, deleted all the texts on my phone from him that I had kept for the last year. The next step is to delete all email communications from him that I have saved over the years, so I don't start reading through them again and start romanticizing over the good times we had together, as I know in my head we had way many more tension-filled and negative encounters and issues in our relationship to ever make it trusting between the both of us any longer.
*Wheew....heavy sigh....it sure did feel good to write that all out and quit dwelling and overthinking about it all!!*
I'm not going to explain "my divorce story" here, I think it can be seen on my profile, if you want to see it.
Furbabymom is lying. She's not 48. She's only 29. She's just trying to get attention..
I spent 37 years trying to make my husband happy and supporting him no matter what silly thing was on his mind.
Our house was not on his list of priorities so by the time he died the house was literally falling down around us. I got a job at school the last 7 years he was alive, and spent as much time away from home as possible. He was home all the time.
He was so hard to live with, as the only person that really mattered to him, was himself. Never once would he lower himself to change a diaper or do anything he considered "women's work"
Last complaint was I never had an extra penny to spend on anything.
As hard as that all was, because of where I am now, in a location I love, with a ton of wonderful neighbors in this Valley who totally were responsible for my house being rebuilt, I would not change a thing.
I am right where I want to be. I worked so hard for so many years to end up here, but, for me, it was all worth it.
I have wonderful kids, I get to spend a couple of months a year during the winter in the warm sunshine.
I can now live for what makes me happy. I can do what I want, when I want, and I can even watch what I want on TV at night.
I absolutely love my single life. I have spent the last 13 years spoiling myself and have no desire to change anything.

Amen Gem:). Me too! Sail on and enjoy
I'm having too much fun right now and stay too busy to even think about anyone else in my life. My days are long and I work hard at what I love doing for now. I have a full life with two dogs, four cats and I board horses for extra money. I get to play on tractors and lawn mowers nearly every day.
Trying to get my STBX out of my life, but he's still hanging around, taking his time, stonewalling, taking things at his slug pace, which is absolutely torturous! I can't even think about dating. I don't trust that I won't fall into the same emotional trap with another guy. I'm pretty physically active, have always done all of the lawn and yard work and have always been exercise conscious (not overboard, just the goal of 3-4 days a week jog). I would love to meet other *people* (not just men) who also enjoy being outdoors, just to meet people socially. Most of my friends don't have the same outdoor interest I do. Dating? Too far off my radar, although a guy I was working with yesterday said I need to go get myself a boyfriend! I guess in his (much younger) eyes, he feels I've got a chance! Lol.
