If your guy wants trust and you want trust, being an open book is a must. Would you give your passwords to him and vise versa? I'll be honest, I had a tough time even thinking of offering mine as I have all kinds of shenanigans in my email that goes way back but, that would be a double standard of me, eh? I finally offered when the reality hit me about openness as it work both ways. He turned my offer down and I was relieved which that bothered my conscience and I decided to purge my past remnants and look forward.
In a nutshell, if you are in a committed relationship, honesty and willing to be an open book, is a must. Ask him if he is willing to be open and you would need to be willing as well. If he doesn't agree, you'll have an answer and save you money and stress in following and becoming suspicious. I'm sure this is unconventional but, my therapist adviced it to me.
thats different than the once-burnt-twice-shy stuff
right?
Its up to you if its ok for someone you are dating to be able to play with others in this fashion.
Trust is a lot deeper then knowing who someone is talking to.. It's a feeling you have inside knowing if the person will have your back no matter what.
If you know you will never have that feeling with anyone then it's best just to make it more of a casual relationship.
Write out your pros and cons about the person.. Which list is longer?
And go with your gut, it's the only thing that doesn't lie. We just usually chose to ignore it.
