Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
I have aunts who are taking them and their behavior is so similar to mine when I was on them. They swear these pills help them, just as I did back then. But you can literally trace their increasingly inappropriate behavior to when they started taking them.
I recently became closer to someone who was just an acquaintance to me many years ago. We were having a conversation, and he said this:
"Wow. I can actually talk to you. You're, like, normal now."
I know there are some people who really believe in these, and I hope I haven't offended anyone. But of all the people I've met in real life who say they are being helped by antidepressants, I've yet to see anything but negative changes.
I'm sorry you are having difficulties and hope I haven't come across as preachy. I wish you happiness and peace of mind.
Not in my wheelhouse.
I always figured if you can think your way into depression, you can think your way out.
That of course discounts people with chemical imbalances, blah, blah, blah.
My personal opinion is going through a traumatic life event such as divorce requires work to heal through it, not a band-aid. For me, antidepressants are for people who have a lifetime struggle.. for people who are sick.
I'm not trying to be intrusive or critical of your choices at ALL - but maybe if you felt the cold, hard feelings (that are completely normal for what youre going through), youd come out on the other side with so many valuable tools to make you stronger and able to deal with harsh life events later on down the road. Just my friendly 2cents.
