I have spent a lot of time over the last four months processing about my former husbands issues (he is a diagnosed narcissist, has OCD, and may in fact have aspergers), he was pretty emotionally abusive to me and the kids and I do understand how all of his conditions contributed greatly to the demise of our marriage. I also know I worked my butt off to make our marriage work in spite of these challenges. That being said- at the end of the day- I just have to accept that he just wasnt that into me anymore. We were together for 18 years- one would think he would have figured it out before then- but perhaps, if I take the high road, I can see and even appreciate that maybe he stayed because he thought it was the right thing to do, and only left when he knew he was going to keep hurting me. Its hard to accept that the person you gave your heart to does not return your love- and that no matter what you did to try and make them happy- would never be enough. I am not excusing his behavior- I guess I am just coming to terms with the fact that I cant really blame him for not loving me the way I hoped he would I guess I just have to accept that for whatever reason the chemistry wasnt there for him anymore. Anyone else move into this phase. Its a little bit sad, but I guess there is some peace in the acceptance, too?
