I guess it depends if its jointly owned items or things that are yours... To be honest, I think it would annoy me too especially if he doesn't really ask or say "do you mind if I take this..". I don't think you are being petty at all!

You should call it him up and ask him (very sweetly) before his next visit "Is there anything at the house you might need? I'll be happy to round up items and have them ready for you?"

I hope he asks for an umbrella...you could fill it with dog poop and smile at him as he leaves!

That happened to me. After over 6 weeks from her leaving I still kept finding things missing. I HAD to put my foot down and say enough. If you want something, being it to my attention, you've had LOTS of time to get everything by now. She didn't like it at first but she heeded it.

The point it, your home is supposed to be a place of security and peace of mind. It can't be if it always feels like your being robbed all the time, like you can't depend on having the same possessions day after day.

No, not at all. I would ask him to come over and take everything he wants at one time and then tell him that's it.

I knew this would be an issue with my stbx and me because a few days after I moved out, I went back in to get the rest of my stuff when he wasn't home and he got furious. So I made a clean sweep of the place and made sure I had everything that belonged to me. Then I gave him back his key. I don't go in his house anymore unless he's home or if I have to go over with our son to get something.

You need closure and him coming in like that and taking stuff is not going to help you get it.

Nothing wrong with setting boundaries. In fact, it is a very healthy thing to do.

tell him on the phone, that way your son is not involved, tell him to make a list of things for you to get toghether for him and then after that, he gets nothing else, and if he is not satisfied with that, you will not let him come in. set boundries.

I think he's doing this as an attempt to shpw that it's still his territory. Like a dog peeing on something he can always come back to it because it's his. I agree with 31years. Call him and ask him if there's anything else he needs.

i don't know about you guys but everytime i got divorced or had a fight with a girl and they moved out they would always attack my cds. steal them,break them,my first wife held almost all my cds and my guitars for ransom. this last time i am missing about 30 cds. she don't know anything about it.ok so let me get this straight
they were here before you moved out, and now they are not. WTF ??? then where are they??they HAD to have done something to them.so of them are out of print and i can't get anymore.
